I have a job offer from Kaiser in their IT. It’s a contract to hire position. (developer position). My recruiting company says they hire within 3 months. I’m currently on a long term contract at my current role. Is Kaiser a good place to work? Do they hire contractors for contract to hire position. How long does it take. Thank you.
So what do they tell employees who get fired "Nothing is permanente"
“Contract to hire “ is to tease and take advantage of low-confident job seekers
You can work for 3 months and check if your agency is ready to lose 30% cut
Most of their hires are contract to hire. It can take a few months to a year to convert. It’s a good place to be in terms of work life balance and freedom to change roles. It’s also a very diverse place which creates opportunities for everyone to grow.
Its a very slow place, you can have a good balance as long as you show up every day. You know what I mean? Contract to hire usually takes a long time and the $$ isn’t as great as it should be considering what you get in bay area (if this role is in a bay area location) but the org has lots of $ to spend so you will have work and you will just need to manage politics. Don’t join at a salary you don’t want as once you join you wont Jump in ranks unless you are a rock star. Good luck.
By long do you know how long does it take to get converted. 3 months 6 months. A year?
Depends on group but 3 month is rare and typically 9 month to year
Kaiser don't do H1b. So join with the assumption that they won't give u full time offer. (Assuming u don't have Green card or US citizenship)
I have GC but thank you for your feedback
What's TC?
Don’t know yet. Until I get offered FT
No
It depends, Kaiser is generally a good place if you looking for a decent pay, great work life balance and long term benefits like defined pension(yes - it does exist now) and awesome medical benefits. However there are no RSUs or ESPPs, So if you are young, i would suggest you to look at companies like facebook, google, airbnb, intuit,etc.. It might be harder to get in, but you can accumulate great wealth in that rout and probably retire early if you wish to

Do you know if they convert contractors to full time for contract to hire positions. How long do they take usually?
