Hi friendly Blind comrades, Seeking some advice: Got an offer from L recently as Senior SDE Background: 4 yoe, laid off by G early 2023, now working at DocuSign, 3rd year of H1B, just started the PERM process early this year with DOCU Pro: better pay (+30% First year TC) better company prestige much better perks(free food, etc) more risk resistant company outlook, L being part of the megacorp MSFT Con: Restart the PERM process Re-onboarding L PIP quota Personally I think DocuSign is a bit of a sinking ship, with news of selling to PE early this year and additional layoffs. But so far have a positive working experience with my peers and managers, also learned a ton in terms of technical. Heard about the PIP quota and deteriorating cultures at LinkedIn as well. Would love to hear about suggestions! Thanks in advance!
Stay away from Li, hearing horrible stories around PIP culture.
If docusign got sold to PE I’d go to LinkedIn even with pip culture. PE will suck the company dry Been there myself Also idk what perm means so not sure if that’s a big deal
Restart perm if you are Indian or Chinese or doesn’t matter
Is Linkedin one of the most drastic changes in culture. It was known for good employee culture at one point. Google also changed but seems Linkedin is pretty drastic change based on recent comments
What’s the offer
LI is a sinking ship also mate
Like any company, it’s very team dependent. In general, it’s still a decent place to work if you only think about a 3-4 year time horizon. WLB varies across teams. Would say that perks are tough to beat, 12 inDay + 2 week long shutdown + unlimited (about 4 weeks typically) DTO. There is more scrutiny around getting a Meets rating, but if you’re good, you don’t have to worry about pip - you’d be focusing on Exceeds and promo. I would also not only consider Y1 TC but Y2-4 since refreshers aren’t predictable and seems to not be very good last couple cycles. If it means anything, I turned down a 20% increase in TC b/c I love my team and haven’t cliffed. Feel free to DM me.
What is 12 inDay?
One Friday each month is basically a day off for the whole company. LinkedIn hosts some events and offers museum tickets plus some other goodies
Highly Team Dependent, whether should come here or not. Are you app/infra? Infra folks have more security atm, but also some infra teams are grind & equivalent politics of US Congress. There are chiller infra teams and safer apps teams. So again really dependent.

Li is a sinking ship
What do you think went wrong? LI was the only social network I used for a long time. But even LI now is a bit cringe
Product leadership is unoriginal, engineering leadership are not hungry anymore. Already multi millionaire that cannot get a director position in a company that has proper accountability. Have failed up in the last 10 years. Now it’s not in interest of anyone up there to shake the tree
