I mean it is brutal right? 10k people don’t meet expectations? It is consistent layoff then.
No, pip is as needed. 0 to 100%

15% to 16% MM (meet most). Normally it will take to MMs for Pips to happen. Now all bets are off. This is on top of 25% (15% of engineering) or so of layoffs over the last 13months. It is hunger games on steroids.
u notice ppl whipped into shape or many don’t care?
I think most people are pretty stressed about it. Imagine having many of your colleagues fired, then having projects mid way canceled, and you end up with MM at the end because you had no ‘impact’ even though it is not your fault. Or, you have been doing well but You try to switch teams and end up with a MM because your old manager needs to fill a quota and it is easier to ding folks that switched teams. Basically, same as Amazon at this point. Just giving the conditions as they are. Seems some former Metamates confirm it as well. It is not all bleak, but knowing all this, it makes it a stressful workplace. I really think forced MM curved should be illegal, as they go against good will.
I was booted within 4 mos of the MM Hindsight, I failed to heed to the manager’s recommendations after MM. Of course, i was under the impression that it takes two MMs for a PIP. Fact is, managers can serve PIP anytime at Meta (two MMs is where they have to mandatorily)
Thank you for sharing.
Where did your end up landing
Yes
100%
I was booted randomly, no MM
How long was the PIP process? 1 month?
Wow! When did this happen? During the layoffs or was it a PIP?
This + further layoff fears. It's Hunger Games the return of the continuation of the Jedi. What a freaking circus
15% is MS + MM Doesn’t mean they all get pipped
What is MS?
Meets some.
Wow sounds stressful
Might be the percentage of rates below meeting expectations, that's not outrageous. This doesn't mean automatic pip or being managed out.
