Hi! Recently got an offer at Meta and am pondering the question in the title. With all the recent doom and gloom surrounding Meta, ranging from its hiring freeze and budget cuts/potential layoff to the Apple privacy changes and Meta's perceived lack of recent innovation, is Meta still Meta or is it a sinking ship? Also related, would you join if you got an offer? TC: 135k YOE: 2 #software #softwareengineer #softwaredevelopersalary #softwareengineersalary
Better than Capital One any day. I got an offer and joining in 2 weeks
People who got rejected from meta will say sinking ship bc they salty
Kinda sinking but a year here will still do your resume some good
Many times better than C1
Depends what team youโre joining. Covid-19 saw the bar go down for a lot of hires and I suspect the covid hires, esp those from non tech prior to joining, will be low hanging fruit to be cut If youโre in a core product team and a core function, then go for it. Internal tools, side teams etc. then I hope you feel okay if you were laid off
The company isn't going anywhere for the next 5 years. Even the skeleton of Yahoo is still around lol. Can't predict layoffs but you should likely be fine.
Totally a sinking ship, better stay at prestigious Capital one making 135k to be safe
Haha, Chris Rock with the jokes...well-played ๐๐
Keep my wife's ships out of your gdamn dock.
Meta is still Meta on your resume.
Short term future itโs still a top 5 company. Probably a sinking ship beyond that but youโll be gone before you feel the water :)
With 2 YOE, it would be a great place to join even for a year.
