Low comp st Google, so looking at possibly switching to Meta. I'm just worried about the WLB there. Anyone care to share any insights on the WLB at Meta? TC 280k
dude, first get an offer. You are talking like you have a direct entry
Totally team dependent. I worked on Ads Manager and it was stressful dealing with so many client bug reports, external deadlines, being woken up in the middle of the night while oncall, privacy reviews, etc. Now I work on some internal tools and it's much better. I've been in my current team for maybe six years now.
What's your Level? TC? WFH situation? Any good team for infrastructure/distributed systems/C++ work?
E6. Around $670k TC (probably higher now that the stock has gone up). I work from the office three days per week and from home two days per week (anyone is allowed to do this). Not sure about infra as I'm a frontend developer.
Its not a sweatshop if you are competent. If you are barely getting an SI, you will be pipped
It’s a sweatshop for most people. Some people thrive in their environment, but $/hr worked Meta isn’t a great deal.
In my experience most metamates religiously act like the wlb is bad and that they are constantly pressed.
Meta is a sweatshop but you'll probably learn a thing or two here
Team dependent like any other company but on average you are more likely to land on a shittier team and the general psc culture making you more stressed.
What company isn’t these days? Genuinely asking, might transfer. So long as the pay is the same (or better).
Amazon is
at least people at Amazon are building products people need.
Comp is bad at Amazon
