Context: I'm 2 yoe total in backend/distributed systems within Azure, joined as a new grad. I've noticed that recruiters are constantly messaging my friends at Google and Meta, while my LinkedIn inbox is empty for most part. I'm pretty surprised, as I figured that all FAANG+ big tech companies gave similar signals. Is it really the case that Microsoft has a significantly weaker brand to tech recruiters? Any similar experiences with ex/current Microsoft folks?
No. Actually Cloud is one areas of constant growth in all companies. You may have to rewrite your resume or restructure your LinkedIn profile.
Microsoft is not FASNG and will never be
Azure is just worse AWS
Definitely not provided you have good experience in building Cloud-Native apps if you are aiming for SDE
Nothing like that. Don’t come to any god damn conclusion on your own. What you write in your LinkedIn profile matters
Not trying to jump to conclusions, rather just asking around for more data points. Our profiles are pretty sparse for the most part, with the companies being the only significant differences
Which part of Azure are you:- Compute, Storage or Networking? Google and Meta both have opening in their cloud domain. Even Amazon has started to hire. I have Meta and Amazon lined up
