I recently received a ppt circulating in Microsoft titled "Women in work place." (PFA). It was primarily focused on How diversity representation is less on leadership level in comparison to Males. And that is something WRONG and needs correction by achieving equal representation of black, asian, lgbtq women, women in general at all levels in the company. It has example quoting "A male reached a VP level position from a warehouse working position, and somehow women get's offended because she's stuck in some mid level position." I don't know if it's right to even compare, may be the person worked harder, more hours, sacrificed his personal life to achieve high end career? I am all for D&I, that we all should have equal opportunity. But measuring it via equality of outcome, and forcefully trying to achieve 50-50, doesn't make much sense to me. For any senior leadership position "Competence" should be the criteria, but it looks like they are trying to achieve this by "Reservation" in some sense. What do you folks think?
