Hi folks, I’m not very educated in stocks & investments. I’ve tried to learn but it is hard. I’m still learning. I started working 6 years ago and only started investing 3 years ago in 2020. My portfolio since then is not doing well. I’m in an overall loss of around 1.5%. Made uneducated investments in low interest driven and inflation hyped over priced stocks. Did not execute exit strategy well. So my losses (Renewable energy) overall neutralized my gains (US Large Cap). I’m evaluating to use some financial consulting firm to handle my investments or at least part of it. Benefits being risk management, long term planning & tax saving techniques. Downside being 1 to 2% yearly advisor’s fee on my overall portfolio. Can you please share your experience, if you’ve used financial planning services. YOE: 6 years TC: 360k NW: 700k Loans: None (Would like to buy home next year if possible) Any meaningful suggestions or learnings are appreciated. Thank you! #personalfinance #investments
"Financial Advisors" are almost all the same as used car salesmen. They want to make a sale because they get commission. Use something like Vanguard or a fiduciary.
Just put your money in VOO and forget it exists
Northwestern mutual is one of the scummiest financial companies out there. I went to some networking event and had a fresh out of college kid try to sell me whole life insurance
