Is O1 becoming the new H1b visa ?
I see many people with normal profiles applying for an O1 visa, with the help of their employer and getting it approved too. Some employers have a low bar for filling an O1 visa. My Masters friend's employer is applying for an O1 visa for him despite having a generic profile with one paper and 2 citations in undergrad. Their immigration agency mentioned there is 75% chance of getting it approved. Is getting an O1 visa really easy?
What is the advantage of O-1 over H-1b?
Employers don’t have many options when H1 is as rigged as it is today. If the system is willing to give O visas with a low bar, companies will take advantage of that.
Do these companies manage to file EB1 GC applications with these O1 approvals too?
