I currently work in Azure. How are the teams at Oracle and how does the work compare? How about future opportunities? I feel like there may be less doors open just for seeing Oracle on the resume? But do I have it wrong? If other FAANG looking at 2 similar resumes one Microsoft Azure and other Oracle Cloud, which way are they going?
I can’t answer but I feel their levels are bit weird like one graduates with a master degree will get straight to senior level
I can vouch in for this, but tbh I haven’t seen too many cases of this. IMP i think it depends On the attrition rate within that team etc
TC wise your make much more at OCI and work could be good decent. Do you know which org are you going to join within OCI?
Oh you poor innocent guy
Oracle is a good place to have a ok engineer become labeled as a bad engineer
Certainly, do not drop in valuation.
It's only about time before OCI has a layoff Oracle is notorious for conducting layoffs
Who cares? You go for higher tc, WLB and interesting work. I have hired ton of engineers from Oci and lost some of the best engineers to OCI. On the other hand I always had a bad experience with Microsoft PMs but that doesn’t make Microsoft bad. It’s all about the perspective. Btw all infra leadership at Stripe is from OCI and Stripe actively hires PMs from OCI.
Actually I had the same question for Microsoft. Does C# look bad on the resume or are you getting enough interest for recruiters? Did you see any issues with that?
As someone who left Microsoft and had multiple offers when I left, most respectable places really don't care what language you worked in. They care about your experience and what you've accomplished. Anyone can pick up a new language. But not anyone can come in with the experience to make good decisions
I think Oracle is trying to be sarcastic.
