Is Oracle good to start career?
I have got an offer from Oracle and my first year CTC (32 L) is better than all big tech companies (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Walmart, De Shaw, and many more). Only Sprinklr and Codenation have better TC (much better) than mine, but I don't want to go there due to hectic work. Is Oracle good for starting a career or its tag name is not equivalent to others? Will I be losing too much just for a few more TC? Also, I have contacted a lot of people in Oracle working there for 10+ years (some even 20 years) and they all seem too much satisfied. They all I have done their graduation from very reputed colleges in India and some of them even have done masters from top colleges from USA, so definitely they are not stuck with Oracle, they are there because they want to be there (please correct me if I am wrong). So, if culture is good with great WLB, I don't mind compromising little on the compensation side and I might even work for their for long time. What are your reviews. #oracle #oracleemployees
The people about whom you're talking just don't want to leave their comfort zone. Most of the teams either work on legacy tech or ops stuff.
Not as good as a brand as others. Plus not so great hikes from what I have heard. Google is a better brand. Rubrik pays more than sprinklr. DESHAW has great hikes. Also sprinklr has terrible wlb. Don’t join Amazon. Low pay for sde-1 plus bad wlb. IMO for first 2-3 yrs Graviton>Google>Rubrik>HFTs(Alphagrep/Quadeye)>Airbnb>DESHAW>Confluent>Linkedin>Microsoft>Salesforce>Cohesity/Sprinklr>Phonepe>Nutanix>Adobe>Amazon>Oracle>Others(like walmart) Considering everything.(Pay/WLB/Brand Value) Source: Have friends in almost all of the above.
