How's working for Pinterest like? I know they had a lot of potential but haven't heard much about them. How is it from career growth perspective? TC:300 #engineering #software #swe #pinterest
Who use Pinterest?
any female in the Western Hemisphere
Correct answer. Not “all” females, but “any female.”
Jumped from Twitter to Pins previously and regretted hard. Much worse eng quality and leadership than twitter
Hmm thanks. But how is the future look like for Pinterest? I'm tired of twitter at this point
Not too promising, unless some significant changes to company leadership as well as product vision
I love it
Yes
Working at Pinterest is generally good but team dependent. I liked working here. In terms of career growth, it’s slower since there is required time in role. However, with larger amounts of attrition, there may be the potential to move up quickly for some people. Leadership is a mixed bag. Upper engr leadership is fairly weak in terms of vision, but also doesn’t intrude into your every day too often. Middle management ranges from good to mediocre/bad. Overall strategy appears plausible, but upper management has issues with focusing on more than one thing at once.

If you’re at Twitter it’s probably a good idea to jump ship but don’t know much about Pinterest. Can you get some competing offers and compare?
The question is where to?
