It says she’s a Sr director, just curious if that means she’s the top dog in AI at nvidia or in general. Has anyone worked with her ?
It's all marketing dude.
Agreed
Bill Dally is the top scientist at NVIDIA. Anima is also a brilliant scientist. She is very well know for her work on Tensor decomposition. She probably deserves the most credit for the NIPS to NeurIPS name change. She has occasionally gone too far though and alienated many folks with her toxic social media presence. Have not worked with her directly, but have heard positive things from most who have.
Are you an ML researcher at Amazon ? What’s the TC there for ML studs ?
It’s a Hindi word, her name is actually animashree
Right. I just realized that my comment was in bad taste, so deleting it now
I don't know her work, but my perception and personal opinion based on her online presence is that she is a SJW. Like others said: it's all marketing... More of a Twitter and social media personality than a researcher. I mean does she even have time for research?
What’s sjw
Sr director is not the highest level at NVIDIA, Chief Scientist (Bill Dally) is, after that VP (and rare senior VP) is. To name a few, David Luebke, Jan Kautz, Sanja Fidler, Bryan Catanzaro. Also you should know that NVIDIA structure in research is quite horizontal, so there are a lot of brillant people at all levels.
Anima is a great researcher and has led a lot of impactful projects at NVIDIA and most recently her team and work won the Gordon bell prize for their work for modeling Covid-19

Stocks are Ponzi now?
She is there for marketing!
Could you elaborate? Is this a popular personality in tech?
She is what every tech influencer is. But has done some work during her heyday
