Hi, Is ServiceNow a good company to join I am trying to understand it from stability, the company's product and business as a whole, and personal and company's growth potential I am currently at Morgan Stanley, which is a > 10 times ServiceNow I am evaluating an offer from ServiceNow, which is a 60% raise on my current compensation at Morgan Stanley. Before I commit I am trying to make certain that joining ServiceNow will be a safe decision to make ServiceNow Pros Heavy on network automation Cloud team 60% raise on current compensation Good appraisals - 10% on base and 40K refreshers No layoffs Remote job, but I have confirmation from the recruiter, that I can go to the Mumbai office. Cons I have read on blind about the late working hours at ServiceNow to sync with West Coast teams It's a new team in India and only three members are based in India and currently, all three are working remotely. New Manager - My current manager at Morgan Stanley is GOD when it comes to kindness and being nice. Morgan Stanley Pros Best manager Easy life Huge bank and well established in its segment. Cons Low appraisals 7-8% Not much scope to learn automation. In order to do it will need to take in new responsibilities on head. With layoffs, job security keeps stressing me. YoE: 13 years ServiceNow Offer: Base: ₹48,80,000 Bonus: 15% Provident fund: ₹2,34,240 RSUs: $86,800 TC: ₹79,00,000 Morgan Stanley: Base: ₹39,00,000 Bonus: 10% base Provident Fund: ₹2,32,740 TC: ₹45,00,000 Annual appraisals at Morgan Stanley are underway. I will come to know the numbers in Jan'24 My current manager SUPER SUPER good. He is the most kind and inspiring person/manager I have ever seen. He is also trying to promote me. Please suggest from job security, career growth, internal location mobility, and the company's growth perspective. #tech #servicenow #stability #growth
Nobody cares about company size, focus on team and TC.
It's a fairly new team, how can I get an idea about it I tried professional networking platforms, but the people I connected with they were from other teams
Tc difference alone is too much. Make the move.
Thanks.
Lol wtf. ServiceNow is one of the fastest growing tech companies. How is this even a comparison.
Do you see the same for the next 4-5 years and impact from any potential competitors Maybe like Salesforce or Atlassian
Sales force is a dead dinosaur! Atlassian is in different league!
In all due respect, Morgan Stanley is a bank. Their main source of revenue is banking. IT is an expenditure. Servicenow’s IT spend directly generates revenue. NOW seems to be stable and is still growing and hiring. Seems like a no brainer
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Makes sense.
ServiceNow's work culture is awesome, however, it's worth noting that the tech stack is primarily centered around JavaScript. This may result in a limitation of skill diversification, predominantly within the ServiceNow platform. So, while it's cool for now and if you're thinking of sticking around, you're good. But, if you're eyeing other companies down the road, the JavaScript focus might make things a bit tricky. If you need anything please dm me. I work in hyderabad
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am a network engineer. So, for me the tech stack isn't very important, as the network products we work on have their own CLI. One advantage I see at ServiceNow is that this role is automation heavy and automation is in demand skill in the market for network engineers.
How is wlb for the teams which are working on vanilla js in Hyderabad? Are these team's hiring managers based out of US ?
ServiceNow has layoffs just under the wrap
Seriously 😳 But, then in that case they won't hire new people isn't it They would freeze new hires
Nope they victimize people in bell curve.... compulsory put few people in performance and use it as reason to let them go n then they hire new people... they have been doing it ... It's getting very toxic at least in few orgs ... so don't go blindly
Significant difference Make a move !!
But, the work at ServiceNow is only deployment. Whereas at Morgan Stanley I do deployment and operations both. I will blunt my operations skills.

Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
Location? YOE? Position? Hybrid? Fully remote? Lack of details to make decision!
Updated the post. I like your name 😜
Thanks for the details. I would suggest stall by the time you get MS appraisal figures. Try to renegotiate once you have new figures. Be diplomatic in negotiations and keep your and only your benefit in mind(honestly loyalty to a company means nothing these days) Job security at MS is super dicey, so keeping a backup helps. Additionally with 13 YOE solid experience under the belt I think you can aim to cross 55-60L base. Keep looking and keep interviewing, having a offer in hand will speedup the process at other companies and gives you upper hand to negotiate. All the best and congratulations on your achievement
