TC 140k MCOL SoFi will probably offer 200k+ in HCOL Work at Amex feels old fashioned and career killing. I’m a PM working on internal tools at Amex. SoFi would be consumer facing.
Old TC? PM for customer tools is the most useless job ever. GTFO
Old TC where? You mean Amex internal tools is better?
Old TC at AMEX. PM for internal tools is not good. That’s what your doing at AMEX, right? If yes GTFO
Wouldn’t SoFi get more business if the economy is going down?
So will Amex
I’ve worked at Amex - there is a lot of opportunity if you have the right position and are with the right team. PM’ing for internal tools sounds miserable, however. I’d recommend looking for other internal opportunities first and then move on if you don’t see anything.
Honestly even if you got 250k in the current hcol environment with rents at an all time high you'll probably be making the same or less after taxes.
Leaving Amex will boost your future options exponentially. I went from Amex to a startup pre-covid, was laid off after 4 mo & landed in a better position. Level up & leave.
I say yes. DM me for questions about culture, work here and other stuff
Hey can I DM about culture / WLB at SoFi?
C42 did you got offer from SoFi?
Great time to join sofi with the low stock price. No guarantee it will not go lower. Also Because they are bank and it is good for a bank in high interest rate environment and also they are diversified across Consumer banking, lending and tech platform of Galileo/technics which powers the likes of robinhood/chime. Let me know if u need a referral to sofi - I can connect u directly to senior management.
@OOt do you work at SoFi?
