Recently had an interview with Spotify, early stages and decided to check their Glassdoor page. Looks pretty much like booking now, almost word for word. A year ago it looked much more positive and reviews are fresh too. https://www.glassdoor.nl/Reviews/Spotify-Reviews-E408251.htm
Yes. There are few places where VPs and Directors are actually trying to do their job and not getting too deep into headcount politics, but they tend to be understaffed. Tech have a lot of NIH, but that is improving slowly. On the other hand improvements like that usually happen when some part of tech get really bad and senior leadership can’t deny need of improvement anymore. In general no one will care about your performance as long as you are happy and not bringing up uncomfortable topics to your manager
Wasn't Spotify the company that fucked all their employees over with their stock options?
During my work there in an engineering position 2 years ago in Stockholm - those were the most mind numbing 6 months of copying and pasting. The culture is great though, and free snacks were good. The team got disbanded in the end. Can't wait for all music industry to burn to the ground with computer generated music
I was there for the final round interviews recently and what striked me as odd was that everyone I met (6 interviewers) there, everyone had been there 2 years or less. And this is for a senior engineer role too
Average career here actually is 2 years
