Its just a poll but I am also looking for comments. According to me Tesla is a revolutionary company with mission to save the world. Why the best engineers (especially SWE) wanna join G/FB/Apple/AWS/RH/Hedge Funds/Uber/Lyft/Azure/LinkedIn and not Tesla. Tesla pay is lower but not that low to ignore the companyâs impact. Amazon also pays lower but all prefer to work there over Tesla. Over past couple of days I have got some nasty comments like âFuck the mission and go with TC/cashâ I think Americanâs donât appreciate and value the revolutionary talent they got. I know back in 2010-2011, Facebook and baby Zuck, Google and larry-sergei got so much love from media and all the people in USA. Why hate Elon and Tesla? I think Elon has significant followers but a lot more haters. Following videos may change your mind about Elon and Tesla (and also the mission) https://youtu.be/I9D4ifGzndY https://youtu.be/bm-cCn0uRXQ Did you cry after watching video 1? #tesla #spacex #google #facebook #amazon #aws #faang #sre #swe
Are you at Tesla?
Tesla over FB/Hedge funds anytime. TC isn't a factor but team matters more than the company name imo if you really want to make impact.
my dude, have you taken a blood test recently? because I'm pretty sure it's 100% kool aid.

Lol truth
Think about this: if the company is impactful, it should either have good revenue (if itâs mature) or good funding (from investors who believe in the passion). Why canât it pay good money to employees? Thatâs because the leadership is greedy and keep money in their own pocket. People generally donât want to work for greedy leaders who donât share their profits
Not true. Some projects like pure b2b software have higher margins and especially long term projects where the solution is unknown have fewer people willing to take bets on them, hence lower margins, ergo employees have to put more and believe in the mission
Your response is hard to follow. A risky and potentially low margin business is a bad idea. Successful companies are balanced on a risk/reward basis, therefore they can pay well for talent (if risk is high, investors pay, if risk is low, the market/margins pay).
Somehow I feel like the user is Elon Musk or someone in his team trying to fix his public image. There is no way this user is so delusional.
From what I have seen women hate Elon more than Men. Btw, do yâall know about his first principles? Also, How canât anyone cry after seeing his inspirational videos?
No one I know hates Elon except communists. In fact women love Elon more from what I have noticed, for some reason Also no, I wonât cry after watching cringe videos lmao wtf
Dude Tesla is a fine company to work for. No need to post this motivational cringe
Stay away from Tesla, not worth it.
Tesla is bad wlb, lower TC for most, and SWE iis not at the core of the company. If you care about impact and not YC, Why not take a job at a hospital, they actually save lives....
Or startups working to clean the ocean.. or sustainable desalination.. or automate farming.. EV space is already crowded at this point

If a company is impactful, it should be able to pay its employees a fair TC. I have never considered Tesla but their levels.fyi reports seem low. Senior engineers make 209k? It is like new grads at Google and Facebook
Spacex pays low too. You bank on stock growth
Banking on stock growth doesnât mean you have to accept low offers. Most startups can beat public companies on the base salary and they can still offer good RSU package based on the last valuation round
