Recently bought an Audi, and they try to be cool and shit and have an app. But the app and the whole infotainment system is absolute horseshit. Also heard horror stories with VW software in general. What other non Teslas actually have good software? Reliable app, good in car software, OTA software update, and etc.
I drive car for commute + fun of driving. If I wanted to drive a software , I would play f1 racing game
I think that’s probably fine, but why try to be cool and make some half ass software that just doesn’t work…
Tesla is great, you only need to click about 30 selections to find what you want and after that it's completely intuitive
Could you give me specific examples, I'm actually in a position to possibly address them so they aren't as buried. In the meantime, don't forget about the voice controls. They're surprisingly good, and no UI nav needed.
@Tesla adjusting the AC on a M3 is a total cluster especially since the UI redesign last year. I think part of the problem is that people just really need physical buttons for AC control and a real volume knob. I appreciate the starkness of the M3/Y interior but I really think the proper solution is just a few more physical buttons.
Technology? No other manufacturers has pioneered like Tesla yet. But soon Benz might overtake them.
Hyundai and Kia
My Tesla key app works 90% of the time
Tesla has horse shit manufacturer quality it’s a car for people that get fooled by aggressive marketing
Test drove Tesla and I agree the overall build quality is shit and the interior is just way too minimal which makes a lot of everyday tasks unnecessarily difficult. I just wish the traditional luxury car makers can spend more resources on the software experience, instead of just pushing out these half baked tech features. I really hope they will push out fixes soon, but looking at forums, I am not hopeful.
When do we get time to appreciate s/w while driving. I think bmw offers the best of both world. 2024 x5 50e over Tesla suv any day
Tesla software so great it doesn’t have apple car play
I have to agree that CarPlay is quite good, that’s also why I went with the Audi. But the rest of the actually car software is just shit. The app stopped connecting a couple weeks ago, and the rest of the software is very buggy, and a lot of times wireless CarPlay won’t even connect for no obvious reasons.
In terms of infotainment, my 2018 Jeep has been the best thing I've used. It's not the fanciest. It's not the prettiest. It's rather intuitive. It's somewhat configurable. It gets OTA updates. It works with AA and CarPlay. We can have multiple BT devices connected at the same time, so my phone is still there for calls if my wife wants to use her phone for media and play DJ. I like it more than the system in my 2018 BMW. It's easier to use.
Why do you expect your cheaper than iPhone infotainment to be good?
That's gonna be entertaining 🍿
