With Gab and now Parler grabbing users and twitter banning everyone and censoring everything that goes against the far left, is twitter dying? Edit: win not sun.
All twitter does is get people fired. One bad tweet life over. Fuck that.
I guess if you're an asshole and you are aggressively threatening or saying outrageously innapropriate things, you deserve not to work amongst normal people who might find you you to be dangerous?
It will take time for gab to evolve into something useful and entertaining in its own right outside of “I’m here instead of on twitter right now”

Many prominent software engineers use Twitter. It’s a big part of the OSS community I’ve found.

It’s dying because it has no appeal to ordinary people. The only people who use it are celebs and narcissists building their e-brand.
I don’t think either of those platforms is poaching users from Twitter in any meaningful way. I don’t think that will change for the average user, either. Will twitter lose the hard/authoritarian right? Sure, but they never had numbers sufficient to be problematic in the first place.
I think the mainstream audience that the right appeals to won't leave Twitter. News organizations won't feature gab tweets like they will feature Twitter. So it's hard to raise awareness that Gab is a thing unless your hardcore. Gab is effectively censored.
