I bought Uber during the dip in March for $14-15/share. Was fine with the thought of swinging it or holding long term (2-3 years) but with them being out the autonomous race, missing on grubhub, the still TBD employee status fight in CA (and other super blue states entertaining similar legislation), possible covid still affecting life in 2021, dead last mile transport businesses, I’ve given up on this being a $60+ stock. But open to thoughts on if there’s anything I’m overlooking that makes it a long term hold (like maybe freight). Otherwise I guess this week looks like a good exit, it never seems to be able to break the $40/share mark so I’m expecting a pullback. #investments #uber
We are in the midst of a pandemic and a crappy economy that’s not looking good and will probably take a decade to get better. Hang onto it. Investments are a long term investment, not a three month one.
Out of the autonomous race? Where’d you hear that
I’ve seen conflicting articles on Uber’s progress, testing and plans for self driving. But there are also companies much further ahead, which means they could introduce self driving ride share before you. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
well, uber became victim of covid 19 when its supposed to grow.. I believe, uber will bounce but wait time may be little long.. i am making my position in uber for long run.. i do see its coming under $30 if remote working continues few more months..
You can hold for 1 more year I guess.
Buy a lot more, think of a 15-20 year period.
I honestly don’t think Uber will be around in 15-20 years, if it is, not in the form it is now - and when I say that, I’m not expecting it to have changed positively. It might linger around the way foursquare or Groupon has.
Foursquare and Groupon didn't have the scope to scale. Uber can do plenty of things once they get over the current hiccups.
Judging by Uber leadership quality, California maybe cancelling uber on prop 22, dems about to win elections and ongoing worldwide pandemic....
