I have close to 10 years of work experience with 4 companies. Most of these companies are well known and in F100. Recently I have been trying to get in Tech companies from West coast. While with my previous companies (except Walmart) , it was not that difficult to get calls from FANG. I have seen Walmart name even with considerable more experience has made it difficult to get noticed. Is it possible that Walmart on my resume is making bad impression. Not that I can do anything about it. #Walmart #Netflix #facebook #google TC : 210 (peanuts) YOE: 10
nope
Nah. Iuno why everyone here cares so much about prestige. Will Walmart stand out to recruiters? No If you do good work there and construct a good resume, you’ll get plenty of call backs
You are right. Also it’s COVID time so probably it may also negatively impact my chances .
Yeah this ^ I think it’s the market right now. I think typically people don’t care about pedigree and company names, mainly results BUT when the market is as competitive ans crazy as it is, I DO think company name is used as a quick easy filter. Think being the keyword, maybe I’m wrong
It won't. Expect 2 grades down levelling.
That’s what I have been thinking... probably Walmart’s tech stack is not considered good by other companies and also the talent pool.
R u in bentoville? Walmart California tech stack is good and so is the talent pool
I wouldn't hold it against a candidate, but I don't evaluate resumes
Nope. I get calls and I’m at WD...
Not bad but may not be impressive either. I didn't get interview call from F and G till I was there. I won't generalize because it's just my personal experience.
Yes
Nope. There are plenty of folks who went from Walmart to faang. I’ve gotten calls from F and A even though I’m not looking for a job.
No
