I’ll be getting an offer to join Zillow as a SWE (I don’t have the details yet, will make a poll when I have them). Is it a good place to work? Is it a good place for growth? What about WLB? Is it layoff risky? On the prestige side, do you think is a good name to have on my resume? Better than Autodesk? Thanks! TC 110k
I like it here. Varies team by team and depends on your role. Don’t like those you have interview with so far? That is usually a good sign.
Come on in. Negotiate well as they have competitive TC compared to Autodesk. Once you are in not much of a bump in TV. People leave after 4 year cliff.
I'm from outside the US. Zillow has a stronger base (almost 2x what I make at ADSK), but it's about 1/3 of the stock I have at ADSK. Overall, Zillow will offer 20-25% more if I get it right. Trying to negotiate a higher base. So I think that will make me worry less about the cliff in comparison with ADSK, where my refreshers were mid (won't net the full hire RSUs with the refreshers).
