I was fired from my last work place and my boss told me to find something until 1st of may, last week he told me that I almost delivered nothing in March and he can't keep me anymore and wants me to leave till the end of month (don't bother to say that I had 5 days off on march). 2 days before that I signed with other company and the start date was 19 april. So I will have like 3 weeks of unemployment. Is this bad? I mean I can use this time to finish my dissertation.
nobody specifies exact dates in resume either ways..
If asked just say you wanted to have time for yourself between jobs, but I think nobody will ask and I hope it's illegal to even do it. In practice nobody cares.
I don't know why you'd even ask that
Your resume will state: Job 1 - ended March 2021 Job 2 - started April 2021 Looks fine ? If it was a two month gap, then I may be more concerned. But that’s just me
nobody cares.. as along as it’s not like a year or two
A few weeks is just a holiday/break, a month looks a bit odd, a few months looks really bad unless you have a good story for why there's the gap. If you use the time to finish your dissertation or to enjoy some time off, that's great, no need to have an explanation for that length of time.
No one cares even if you were fired/laid off. You already have your next job. If you get fired from every job, that is a different story.
