For people in FAANG+, is there any advantage to getting an MBA? I see most execs and VPs are increasingly non-MBA. EDIT: Can you also comment why? TC: 400k #mba #faang #tech
Depends entirely on what you want to do and where you are relative to that now.
Ideally, build my startup, but if not, gunning for FAANG Dir / VP / C-suite.
Hmm can’t help much there. Obviously, the higher you go in an organization, the more further promotion depends on luck, timing, and good old politics. Depending on where you get in and how much it costs, a 2 year resume boosting vacation does sound nice though.
If you get an MBA, your target should be to get into MBBs. Not into FAANG. For FAANG , you should be fine without MBA if it has to be product/program manager role.
Yeah, in MBB it's a must for going up.
That’s not true. People from my insti/university has joined MBBs and then gotten into M7 schools.
Blind hates mbas. You’re asking the wrong crowd.
Please tell me a crowd that loves MBA ? Today, return of investment is all matters
I think for MBB / IB, you need to have one as some firms simply don't take you without an MBA.
