how is the work culture?
Hubby works there -- culture sucks he once brought home a story about being encouraged to shame a fellow co worker to perform better
Hubby works there . Not recommended. Very few teams with smart people left.
a lot of indians. no, like A LOT of indians in engineeting :) very very good work life balance. at least in the teams i knew about. people are mostly very nice and approachable. some are very smart. a lot of mediocricy and complacency. it is very important to be skillful in political games to be promoted higher than level 5 as who you know and are a friend with significantly speeds up your career advancement (a lot of examples of people making it to director levels who arr literaly unemployable as software engineers as they cant code or manage projects or teams but exceptional in socializing with higher ups). i liked it there though and left to try something more challenging.
I've got a friend who was part of the initial acquisition. He says that most groups at Walmart quickly figured out that hiring for Walmart labs was easier, so they all became Walmart labs, then just Walmart. The original team and culture of the startup that became Walmart Labs is long gone.
Super good pay
Walmart is not known for been a very good employer...
I concur with tron . There are a very few teams left with folks interesting folks to work with. Most of the teams have average or below average folks. However, work life balance is great and unless you want to strive hard, there is no push
It's not Walmart labs anymore. Literally just Walmart.com
How is the work culture in general?
It's going to be old and a lot of Indians
