Let's say you get the opportunity to build features like materialized views, indexing, query result caching for OLAP, is it a good opportunity? The team will not have on call because it is data plane. Team is not new but relatively new. I have other data plane opportunities too in different orgs internally like Spark optimization, data access controls in cluster but I have always worked on control plane service over data plane. I am well aware that promo in such teams take longer but is the work fun on data plane side of things over building normal control plane micro-services? I want to become good engineer before chasing a L6 promo. I know I can get a fast promo in CDO teams in couple years but not chasing a promo. TC - 280K

Cyber truck killer: Chinese version of EV truck
Super fun. Used to work for core tech, now in product. F**k product. More faster promo but boring work. Unless you love the product/have a knack for business.
