Hey I want to work in USA obv for higher pay. Doing MS is not an option coz I don't have much savings nor do my parents. Safest way is to go through internal transfer. I heard since it is internal transfer they lowball the offer with little to no room for negotiation. That's fine but is is true that we won't get any stock components? If it is true then people who have gone India to USA on L1B visa are you saving more money there than in India? TC :- 18lpa YOE :- 1 #workvisa #h1b #internaltransfer #transfer #amazon #India
L1 wages are non-negotiable but will include RSUs as part of the comp structure.
You'll be placed in the same part of the band you were in but in the US band. To get you to the correct part of the band, they might give you more base or more stock or both.
No rules like that. I got it
I’m on L1 and I have same benefits as others. Don’t let them fool you.
You will keep the India vesting you got. No new stock.
is this for Facebook?? others have commented that they have got stocks so is it team dependent?
In general, I have friends at MS, G, Amzn who came to US on L-1 and only kept their initial stock grant. This is true for most cases as only your base salary gets adjusted.
Depends, I did get new stocks when I moved to Seattle on L1B because I had exhausted my initial 4yr grant and grants during reviews in india were pretty small.
so if we have still some stock to be vested we might not get new stock?? will we get it after we vested our India stock

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
Am not indian but the L1b transfers I have seen make pretty much the same as normal hires. You will likely be put in a similar band as you are at your current location. Your pay won't be lowballed but if you expect to get the same pay as those who have competing offers from google and Facebook, etc then you will be disappointed. Look at what the average pay for your grade at the location you are moving and you won't be too far off. As for if you will save more here or not, it totally depends on you and your lifestyle. Most immigrants do well in this regard but I have seen some who has no sense of wealth building.
