I have been offer the role of senior software engineer by Walmart labs, Chennai. I am a back-end engineer. Base : 32 lakhs Yearly bonus: 8 lakhs (25%) New joine stock: 8 lakhs (25%) with 2 lakh vesting every year. They told that I will receive refresher of 25% base as stock every year during feb-march months Yoe: 8 years Yearly pay: 42 LPA Current TC: 18 lakhs Had another offer with 28lpa which helped me negotiate. (1) How are the appraisals in walmart ? How much percentage hike you get ? (2) What is the promo path for the staff Engineer (genuine question. Any current/past employees can you guys help please ?) (3) Does the yearly bonus and yearly stock refresher change person to person or is it fixed across the company ? Meaning that will get the 25% stock + bonus every year if I meet the expectation in work ? How has this been given out so far ? Basically how does this bonus and stock refresher work ? In many companies there is something called variable pay which not many would honor (4) Has anyone joined the newly opened Chennai office recently ? #offer #tech #walmart #chennai#india
Yearly bonus and stock refresher is based on position. IN3 has 20% bonus & 15% RSU IN4 has 25% bonus & 25% RSU IN5 has 25% bonus & 45% RSU I’ve heard Walmart pays out 100% bonus on an average rating, and it can go upto 120% based on performance.
Congrats. I heard they are hiring big in Chennai. Where is there new office located? It seems like a good offer I have seen so far for Chennai in Blind 😅
In the MGR salai road, Taramani. Next to SP info city.
It's a standard offer with only negotiation possible on base and joining bonus. Looks like a decent hike on your current.
Hi OP, congrats on the offer. Would you be able to share your experience moving from service based to product/e-commerce? What would you recommend people in service based companies do in order to get an opportunity to interview with product companies apart from leetcoding and system design?
I also work in Walmart and followed almost the same path. My previous company was a start-up. But I started my career with a service company. You simply need to be strong in your tech skills and have good grip on algorithms and data structures.
It looks you are already in a pretty good company. Just curious, why would you ask about the transition if you are already working in a product company ?
Dont even think
Regarding joining WMT ?
Are you saying they should join or should not.

Cool, given the bump in TC. Why are you even thinking about it? Strongly suggest to grab it.
