I have received verbal confirmation of an offer (recruiter didn’t reveal exact numbers yet). I’ve read various articles mentioning that Instacart is close to direct listing/IPO. Is the upside less if they do a DL vs IPO? Do you think it a good time to join Instacart? Why or why not? Looking for help in understanding what to even ask the recruiter to make an informed decision about whether it’s worth leaving a stable company like Salesforce for Instacart where the TC will likely be heavily biased towards paper money (?) TC: 350k YOE: 6 Sr Software Engineer offer from Instacart #equity #startup #ipo #instacart
I think Instacart has a ton of potential for growth (grocery is a 1 Trillion dollar market). The culture is good and there are interesting problems to work on. IPO vs DL probably won't affect price much either way.
But obviously I'm biased. Depends a lot on if we can beat your current TC.
Is it a good time to join ? Hindsight is 20/20, the best time would have been years ago. Still a good time, the company is in a good position to continue to grow.
