Hey guys, is it illegal to use agents to book visa slots? Do not see it being stated in the us embassy website. Please do comment if you or your friends have faced an issue during interview or at port of entry. Not expecting word of mouth. Tc: 170k #workvisa #h1b
“There is nothing illegal about it. I don't think you need an agent just to book a slot with us. Hopefully, they're providing some other advising services: Don Heflin, Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs, US Embassy in India on people using agents for booking visa slots” https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1570017184809914370?s=20&t=rhB-0MYvxRSpy5WhzQehyw
Thank you
I know 5 ppl personally who used agents to book visa appointments in the past 6 months and they all got their visas stamped without any issues. It’s not good for the process overall but I’ve heard that the consulates really don’t care about it since according to them “the appointment system is managed by a third party”, which is partly why the situation is what it is right now.
This was posted on one of the telegram groups. Not sure if it is true or not.
It's not illegal. However, it's not ethical (they are charging money for something that's free just because slots are full and we are helpless). And I know few people got scammed. Only use agents if you know them. Don't pick random agent from telegram/discord groups.
How is it unethical? It’s a completely optional service.
@Visa familiarize yourself with tragedy of the commons.
Does anyone know of any reliable agents they have worked with before? There seem to be a ton of con artists on telegram groups. Thanks.
https://g.co/kgs/abtcpn The URL looks shady af, but I know people who have successfully used it.
It’s only cheating… if you get caught.
It’s not illegal.
I understand but How come? Getting an in-person slot is a nightmare. Hard for anyone to check the cgi portal given the limited logins. We are paying for their services. Any website which has this info
