I got a offer and is plan to notify my boss about resignation the day after the RSU vesting date. As far as I know that should not be a problem. just want to confirm if that’s the case in Apple ? Anyone heard anythjng different? #rsu
Standard
Wait until the stocks are in your account.
Where are you going?
I am leaving because of the manager, typical situation. The team I am at doesn’t really have a direction and is just trying to make up some demo projects for short term reviews. It has been like this for couple years and the only reason I have stayed is the money and generous stock refresher... don’t get me wrong the company is still great and I can see it has at least another 10 yrs or huge growth myself. If you do want to join, try to get into the iPhone teams, it might be stressful and long working hours there but I heard it’s rewarding as well.
What’s the reason you mentioned to recruiters for “why are you looking to move”?
I am being honest to them
Congratulations. It does not hurt ... you can leave immediately after vesting. Do you mind sharing YOE and TC ( old/new). I have heard Apple Pay’s generous refreshers....they cannot remove stocks that are vested... it’s illegal.
I haven’t got the new number and my current TC for past 3 years averages out about $260k. YOF: 9
Thanks for sharing . Once you have signed the offer , share it with your manager. Grants are managed by compensation department and *once vested* they can not be taken back. Are you in AI/ML space? It does not make sense to have demo projects otherwise. I am also sorry about your situation. Looks like there are holes even at companies like Apple!
This is typical behavior. Go for it.
Standard behavior (here anyway) to make final day the vesting day. I personally wouldn't give notice until it's vested though just in case.
I don’t think so. I did that with MSFT
