I am currently applying for internships for this upcoming summer and I am trying to get referrals for each. Though, should I even bother applying if I don't have a referral? I heard your application basically gets tossed out if you are not from target school or don't have a referral. #referral #application
Pretty much pointless without one.
I got my opportunities without referrals. Just a blind application
No. In fact in my experience I've gotten more responses from applying without a referral than from a random referring you. And more warm responses from someone you've worked with referring than from a job portal application
I've never had a referral and got internship offers Google, Snapchat, and Unity. Plus new grad offers from many more, the trick is to message a crap ton of recruiters on LinkedIn and send them your resume there. If you just apply online and do nothing else your resume will get lost in the other thousands
