I got an interview with Dropbox. Considering as they are full remote. My question, Compared to Amazon how is the work culture at dbx ? Their stocks doesn’t seem very impressive, so what’s the long term growth ? Is Dropbox a good company to have on resume ? Considering recent layoff and a dying product what are the pros for the company long term ? TC 220
Welp, seems to me Dropbox is a sinking ship that nothing special going. Like you said, there is no stock growth.
My stock grant grew like $80k I started in March 😅
Congrats! Nice timing
Honestly I'm not sure how Dropbox still has a customer base. Everything they offer Google/m$ already have integrated into their platforms that you already use.
Just like people on blind believed no one uses Snap anymore, but turns out they are just too old for it.
not sure about their TC but my friend at dropbox has great wlb. unlimited pto, plus lots of company holidays and days off.
Great: Wfh, wlb, tc, tech. Not so great: Future is unclear. Past it’s peak.
Dropbox asks hard questions for no reason. The company is a dumpster fire
Kinda sounds like someone got rejected at Dropbox lmao
Worth interviewing for offer negotiation purposes
What do you care about more? Growth in career and knowledge or money? If it’s money, then hell yes.
Is career growth bad?
I downloaded Dropbox after getting an interview invite. It's so ass dude. 1GB of space? Google gives out 15GB for free. They can't compete, nor do they try to compete. Can't talk too much shit though I failed the online assessment
At least you’re honest! We pay well. So… who cares?
@Dropbox how do they pay so well? Where does the money come from?
I don't get how they're still alive. They should have been acquired a while ago.
Not just alive, but growing and making more every year.
Hahaha for all who are saying how dbx is still alive: As a product, we still have 2nd highest number of storage users (just behind Google drive) and every quarter getting more users. Plus with new acquisitions have rapid increase now. It is definitely past its peak but still a tier 1 company and folks from G/FB are joining us every month (recently seeing more Amzn folks though) 😜 As an employer: I joined from G, and I can 100% vouch for dbx as an employer. Top tier pay (500k+ TC at IC3 <$450k without stock appreciation>) Apart from top tier pay, amazing talented n humble coworkers, great wlb (i mean like msft level wlb), good tech stack n tons of opportunities, unlimited pto bunch of company wide pto. I mean what the f**k do u need more. Plus for folks who want to work remote we have some of the best remote working benefits (u literally get $7000 a year to spend on anything that’ll help u work remotely) Funny thing is, this post is written by someone in Amazon 🤣🤣🤣 I literally cannot think of a single thing that amazon has better than dbx (as an employer, not as product I love amazon product)
Thanks for the detailed overview ! Very useful to make a decision on the offer I have !
Can you share your offer details ? (curious)
