Feels like a golden handcuff today. Work makes me so miserable that I’m getting an anxiety attack every other day. I’m currently on meds trying to survive through all the gas lighting, no wlb, somewhat impactful work. Is it crazy to quit at ~700k TC with 2.3M NW? I’m single no kids in early 30s for context. They do say health is wealth….
I'm in a similar boat, but TC is $600k and NW $2m and have a mortgage. I'm quitting in 4 weeks and taking up to a year off, will relax and travel around. I have enough savings to stay afloat for many years, but feel the golden handcuffs too. I just can't keep doing this, I can feel myself aging from the stress, I need to get my mental and physical health back, it's no way to live.
Good for you — wish I was able to pull the trigger like you. Good luck on your next adventures
I quit at 90 TC, paid off house, paid off 2 cars, I basically dgaf. Going to see friends in Europe in May.
sounds like the dream
Health and happiness are more important than anything else. When you get older, you live with good memories of your youngerself and joy of watching your offsprings growth. Anxiety already in your early 30s is not worth it. Those billionaires in their 60s would want to switch life with you. You live in US. You can get a low stress job. That might be safer than getting laid off because of AI
bro you cant buy health - quit!
Whats the point of earning like this.. work crazy to get mental issues and high TC and then take time off to spend TC and recover mental health.. Instead it could have been a balanced approach
What roles are OP and others in paying 700k TC or more?! Where can I sign up?!
