I'm a Senior UX Designer and have been at Citi for a couple of years now. I am on track to move into management this year but I'm not sure what to do. Part of me wants to go somewhere more exciting and innovating than Citi (and more TC $$$). I'm conflicted because being a manager is logically a good step for my career, but a change in companies could be just as good. If you were in my position what would you do? Get the manager promotion then leave
Word ^^
Ive been @ Citi Design for almost 5 years: RUN. It’s only getting worse, and it’s going to get worse. There is no mobility once you get to C13 (if you aren’t already) and you’ll just be given more responsibility without the appropriate comp or title. My advice (as I’ve been through many rounds of mgmt) is do yourself a favor and go somewhere you’ll actually be valued and have a path for growth. All the best!
Thank you so much!
