You may be secretly doing this and so may Google, but filing a patent? It is not that hard in terms of algorithms but filing a patent draws people’a attention and serious concerns. Stuffs like this kill the future. The engineers behind this patent - your good work will not be pleasantly publicly accepted and you better not put it on your resume.

FB seems unable to get their shit together. They need to fire some of these assholes making these terrible decisions. Starting with that guy that said expand at all costs or something to that nature. Is he still around?
I don't get the big deal. If you are uploading your photos to a free service that makes all their money by advertising, what do you expect? Let FB offer a subscription based model free of all data mining just to shut the complainers up and see how well that does.
