I was laid off in January and have only been applying to jobs with single step applications that use Lever, Greenhouse, etc., application systems. If I see Workday or ICIMS or any system that requires setting up login information, or worse, makes me reenter things that are already on my resume, I will back out. Has anyone dealt with this dilemma? Is it worth it to spend the extra time with these annoying application tracking systems?
It’s annoying af. I know. But there’s no choice. Use the Simplify Google extension. It automates filling up the details. Works like a charm. I now finish workday applications in 2 mins
WOW this is amazing. I have been using autofill and a text expander but this is next level. Thank you for sharing.
It is!! Their developers got great funding too now. Stanford dropouts.
According to many, you should just click a button and get the job so I'm guessing the answer would sway towards no.
Honestly, it would be pretty sick if I could click a button and find out instantly if I'm hired.
Greenhouse and lever only for me. When I was searching a year ago my strategy was to gather saved jobs lists during the week and then apply rapidly on weekends. If workday popped up, I’d almost certainly skip unless it was a very good fit for me. Ended up getting hired off of one of my lever apps.
Obviously it’s annoying, but it’s a natural funnel for disinterested or non-serious applicants. 15 mins of your time for a 300k/yr job for the next 5-10 yrs of your life. It might be worth it if they’re a good match and otherwise high chance of a hire. On the other extreme is take home assignments which can take hours / days, so I don’t bother with those.
All job posting a should be a few click apply. Like apple for example. Apply to any job in 3 clicks I think it is.
You don’t wanna work at places that use just inefficient systems anyway
If it's workday just skip it.
Enough companies use workday that it’s worth it to create a plain text resume that piece of crap software can parse.
I don't use these online applications at all. They are generally a waste of time. The hit rate is nonexistent, especially now. Use your network. If you don't know someone directly at a company, you can use LinkedIn to find someone who has a common experience with you (same previous company, same university, etc) and reach out to them.
You will back out of applying if it takes 10 mins when you don't have a job?
Thank you for echoing exactly what I said in this post.
You can fill out multiple greenhouse or lever apps in 10 minutes
