We hear the stories of senior executives committing suicide from stress, or not having the time for family and kids which results in kids with mental health issues (e.g. Mint Butterfield). Is it worth it to be a senior executive or ultra rich? Isn’t it better to have enough to live comfortably while having the time for family, friends, hobbies, and enriching experiences?
Depends on you and what you want out of life.
It's better to be rich and an L5 lol
My grandparents aren't senior executives but have a net worth of 115 million, and they say their life hasn't materially improved beyond a few million net worth. Only different is they now easily indulge at certain times like business class flights (instead of economy), highest-end luxury resorts (instead of a normal 4 star hotel), and certain hobbies like flying lessons, horse riding, car racing, etc. They also now engage in philanthropy, which is something you can't do a just a few million. Tbh I'm not an executive, so I can't say for sure, but from what I see, not many executives do the above things. They seem to just like climbing the ladder for pride in their work and the feeling being an executive gives them. Up to you if that sounds appealing or not.
There's a very large number of well adjusted, non-dysfunctional rich people who lead productive and fulfilling lives. They actively avoid publicity and just do their thing. Thus, we never hear about them.

It's almost like different people are driven by different things. I know a few execs, and all got here with different paths.. only one of them truly is the type a personality stereotype who pushed and pushed to make it up the ladder. The rest were smart people who moved up by luck and merit, and have a great balanced wlb.. All are rich, but one is ultra rich by doing investments. .
I would never want to be a high up executive. You don’t have any free time always look exhausted and are away from family
