I want to switch company. I want to settle down with a home and a car. I want to plan my family. Everything is stuck on damn luck with H1B process. TC: 200k
You need a Canadian passport to get TN. Once you have a TN you are not allowed to apply for green card. To do that you still need H1B. Oh, and when you finally apply for green card, your Canadian citizenship will not let you switch queues which are based on country of birth.
Not entirely true. Many Canadians apply for GC and do AOS on TN. This wouldn’t work for Indians since their AOS time won’t come by the time TN renewal is due.
1. You need Canadian citizenship-will take 4-5 years. 2. TN is a non immigrant visa so that means there’s a ton of complications that come with. Ironically you will still need to depend on H1 if you want to work in the US for a long time after becoming a Canadian citizen
Technically you can go TN->GC but it’s more risky and some employers won’t even try.
What is your YOE ?
You can achieve all three in Toronto. With Google TC, you will live comfortably and stress free in an exciting and fast growing city.
Well generally I've heard you shouldn't buy a home on TN either
