At DoorDash and see a ton of openings related to my field (non-tech) at companies like Square, Stripe, PayPal, Airbnb. I joined DD before the IPO so my RSUs are already 6x increase after IPO. Is it even worth interviewing at other companies at this point or should I ride out the 4 years? Is it even possible other companies would match the RSU bump? unless you hate your job or got meager amount of rsu's to start, no
Ride it out wtf

Not going to lie, very jealous of DD’s success. OP, or other DD pre-IPO employees, are you concerned about your business model post covid? If I were you, I would sell every vested share as soon as lockout expires and leave when the stock price corrects itself, but that’s just my perspective on DD (and Instacart and other companies that benefitted from covid). As far as other companies matching it, I know Uber won’t because we don’t believe in your valuation. Source: me, a hiring manager
To be frank, knowing where we are headed and already destroying market share for every new vertical (ex. convenience), I think we will only get bigger. Similar to how Amazon built their retail infrastructure starting with books, food delivery is only the beginning. We overtook titans like Uber and Grubhub with billions in funding when we were just a scrappy startup. Now we are armed with our own billion dollar war chest yet our leadership is still smart and frugal with every penny we have (ex. not wasting billions on useless acquisitions like Postmates and instead using it for new verticals like convenience and Storefront).
Although DD is absolutely killing it in marketshare, I personally think these services day of reckoning is coming and coming fast to prove profitability. When that happens DD and others may see valuations plummet until they can scale profitability
TC?
People chase a good pre-ipo and you want to walk away from a successful one ?
These companies are the same, secure the bag 💰
How much would you be leaving on the table? That would be a big concern for me
Rest and vest
