Guidewire => fb == a pay cut? Lmaoooo
Not the plot twist we expected but the plot twist we needed
Is Guidewire another Albertsons?
No. Are you kidding?
lol, the FB troll back at it again. People from Amazon do it all the time. Your life sucks. Get over it
Sure bro. Don’t agree with my response? Maybe read what your co-worker qQWF81 has to say below. “100% not worth it. Facebook is in a very bad place right now.”
Unless they are firing you at Guidewire
Is it worth it to take a pay cut to go to any company?
FB => G is worth a 10% pay cut
If you are a leet monkey living on brand stamp and don't know how to build even a medium size project, sure you deserve 10% pay cut.
From guidewire? sure. From other companies save G and a few unicorns, you would gain more from perks, food, benefits, and resume branding too
How come FB is a resume branding gain for G? No one from G would come with a salary hit.
any reasons joining FB except the compensation?
Heard they have so many opportunities and still there is a slim chance for career growth unlike google ?
100% not worth it. FB is in a very bad place right now. There is zero unity or direction. You will be in six month cycles of pumping and dumping IMPACC for your performance review. The PSC meat grinder is what eventually turns any decent Facebook product into a total mess as teams invent metrics they can hit that look good for their review. I made video-watched-time-in-seconds go up 500% this half! Why does that matter? Is it a good product? Who cares, I need a good rating! Growth-hacking products also happens to make an obscene amount of money, so the cutthroat PSC environment is very intentional by the people running the show. Not only do they get filthy rich but all of us further down the ladder are too stressed to ever say no to anything. H1Bs have it even worse since questioning the stated direction risks deportation. That's why Zuck always wants MOAR H1Bs. That's why FWD.us exists. They want you to know you are replaceable by an endless supply of new grads willing to come in as E3s then get chewed up and spat out and fired when they don't make it to E4 or E5 at the arbitrarily mandatory 18 and 33 month time limits. There are constantly posts here in the Facebook lounge about crying or having panic attacks at work due to the stress. There was a suicide in September when a man jumped to death when he was about to get grilled in SEV review, with a nag robot that kept auto-reverting his task deadline to a week sooner than he said was possible. This company is rotten by design from the top down. Some of my coworkers might reply and say I'm being dramatic and that it's possible to find a good team and excel. They're not wrong, but the chance of it working out well for you is lower right now than in any point I've witnessed in our history. Certainly not worth taking a pay cut for. If you feel like believing a stranger on the Internet, I've been here since before IPO. Still here for now despite all that because the pay is good and I know how to play the game. Good luck to you whatever your decision.
Also I would like to add: do you _really_ want to land at Facebook just in time for the 2020 elections? There is no possible outcome that does not involve us getting blamed in some capacity. Pull up a 5Y chart of $FB prices and look at how flat it's been ever since the CA scandal. Expect that to continue, if not worse with all the dems making noise about breakups and regulation. Now compare it to other companies' 5Y and you can see that I lost a pretty significant amount of money by coasting here for the last two years. I haven't been in a position in life to rock the boat. The benefits are good, but they'll trap you too :)
Were you terminated from fb and now salty about it pretending you’re still part of fb?
