Some more details about DataStax Series F-1, F-2 (last funding round was 4 months ago & led by Goldman Sachs) Employees ~800 ARR ~$160M (don’t know whether to trust the sources) Funding $500M New CEO has a history of selling his last company to G TC same both places but for stock options part of it is paper money I don’t particularly enjoy working in my current role but I don’t know if moving to another company at this point would be a good idea or not -given the state of the economy? Please advise
$500M to produce $160MM ARR is indicative of a horribly capital inefficient business and it will likely not survive the recession we’re in.
Yeah, that doesn’t add up. But, they do not have a cash flow issue it doesn’t sound like, unless the burn is out of control.
With 800 employees and an ARR of $160M, it sounds like they are going to have a cash flow issue very very soon. :) The $500M was probably raised at the peak of the market and the CEO continues to spend recklessly by over hiring. I wouldn’t want to be there when that bubble inevitably bursts and the layoffs ensue.
ARR Is wrong... From what I have researched, it's in low low double digits. That number you have is install base... Their customers are moving to mongo, dynamo etc..
