At my job, employees pay ~9k$ per Year (700$ per month) for a family medical insurance (regardless of number of children). It's an optional benefit and the company pays a few thousands on top of that for the insurance company (dunno the exact number... guessing 4 to 6k). Is 9k (pretax money) a normal amount or way too much? Add to that a 2.5k$ deductible. So whatever the annual gross salary, you subtract 9-11.5k just for medical. Also wondering how FANG companies do the medical insurance (employer vs employee share). I know it depends on how good the insurance is and all that, but I'm talking about decent ones. Please share the amount you pay at your company
I would call this abysmal. At Salesforce a high deductible plan for singles is $0 and for family is $1400 for this year for the cheapest plan. $1500/$3500 deductible respectively. 90% coverage. I don’t remember FANG plans off top of head but remember it’s lower than this and better coverage. getsalesforcebenefits.com
Here is a very detailed info on Amazon’s health plans. Other FAANGs have somewhat better plans: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/landing_pages/benefitsoverview-us
My last job had everything covered, $0 deductible, $0 monthly premium. Amazon its $350-500 a month for family.
Our contributions are zero, deductible for family of four $4K, max payout of $6K.
Tesla, $100 a month for a family. No deductible. PPO.
Apple employees+spouse high deductible plan is about $200/month. Includes $1500/year HSA. Pretty low cost if you don't go to the doctor much. Gets expensive if you go to Doc paying everything upfront until you hit high deductible of ~4k then 90% covered everything
FB all free for great plan. Some minimal amount to cover family
This plan you have is garbage.
It's terrible, I work for a no name company and pay $8,000.:-(

Way too much. Employee contribution should be around $300-400/month for family with children.
It's per year. Updated the post.
Is that how much googlers pay? $0 for high deductible plans, $300 monthly for traditional is typical for many companies
