I want to gtfo of amazon. I got an offer for aprox 250k TC. But my target number is 260k. I asked the recruiter if they can add 10k equity per year. Been 2 days and no answer. Did I just lose an offer from a 10k ask? TC 220k Edit: they got back to me and said offer is non negotiable because lots of candidates
How many YOE? And what role?
2 YOE. Amazon L5 equivalent role
Dude! I would not haggle for 10k at 2 YOE, specially in this market.
You really asked for more during this market Nice way to lose offers dude
You don't want to work for a company that immediately bails on candidates because they dared to negotiate. Bad signs ahead. Worst they should do is say "take it or leave it"
No prob just wait for the answer! Be patient you got this!
There's no wrong in asking. It depends on the way you ask.
Varies from situation to situation. When they have only one candidate they want then there’s room for negotiation. When they have multiple choices then negotiation becomes harder
It’s probably a little harder, but if you can get multiple offers it shouldn’t be impossible.
Maybe they're laying off, and your negotiation is unrelated?
I don’t know what others are smoking. Firstly, you don’t want to work at a firm who will rescind your offer if you ask for more. They can always say no and say that the offer is final Secondly, maybe they are still trying to get an approval. Recruiters are on knife edge and it takes longer to approve an additional ask. Stay patient
This ☝️
This is the one.
You can always ask for more and you don't need to justify it beyond their number doesn't match your expectations.
Wtf? $10k is nothing post taxes, stop being greedy
I'd say the same thing to the recruiter 😅
Stock fluctuations + performance bonus alone can make a 10k+ difference
