Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Current TC 340K E4, with promo this year (June or Dec) next year TC should be around 430 - 460k (~200k refresher + ~40k bonus), and increment of ~80k in TC for 3rd and 4th year. That is if maintained my E4 GE and E5 EE rating, meta stock price stays the same, and don’t get layoff. Current square offer is L5, 370k for the first two year including signon and refresher, the. Increment of 30k every year afterward Given the Hindenburg research on Block, the stock dipped 20% to $60, now might be either the best/worst time to join. If the SEC start investigating the fraud and the 50% fake user thing is real, I will just be jumping from one frying pan to another. What to do?
High risk/high reward. SQ will make it through this recession, but all their employees won’t. They’re also being targeted by short sellers to make it burn even beyond the broader market. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/03/23/block-shares-plunge-after-hindenburg-says-jack-dorseys.html
In Jack Dorsey we trust.
OP, what’s your break up at Square ? Also any tips for their interview process, have an interview scheduled with them.
Defer offer acceptance until the end of April. There's the 4 months of severance and WARN periods anyways in case of a layoff.
Don’t do it.
You seem to like risky play anyways. Why did you choose SQ to interview in the first place
Because it’s one of the few good places hiring?
No matter what the recruiter tells you, I wouldn’t count on a fixed refresher number when computing your comp. Otherwise, it seems pretty OK here despite the Hindenburg report. Who knows how things will play out over time though.
Fair to assume to also not to account for promo. It might not happen, risky even more so with this headwinds bs
As someone who has worked at both. I HIGHLY suggest staying at meta. As a company and as an engineer, your quality of life is better that meta. Also fintech is not the place to be right now, even with square being decent in the space. Also refreshers are top notch at meta, especially with e5. Don’t go bag chasing when you have something good already. Seen too many fall to this trap
This. FWIW formula based refresher was the best at Meta. At Square it’s based on what your EM decides and bottom 10% officially get 0 now.
Yeah I love working at sq but refreshers are 💩 esp compared against meta
This seems like an easy choice lol. U make more at meta and refreshers will make it even more so, tbh you can barely lose by staying at Fb long term. Also, pretty sure l5 at square is lower than e5 at Fb.
Whats the YoE mate?

If you are layoff safe I would say stay at Meta. Why even move?
