In my previous jobs, I genuinely hated scrum with all its cringe rituals. But now when I don't have it, I can't believe myself, but I miss it a lot. It feels like without scrum and sprints, one is never "done".
I think it ultimately comes down to where does the buck stop when projects slips from deadline. With scrum status is constantly communicated and stakeholders are implicitly signing off on the delays as they occur. That being said if your schedule slip up results in a ding even with scrum youβd be under need to deliver project pressure.
Now I'm pressured to deliver even more than originally planned. Plus the peer pressure is somewhat higher when their work is hidden, in comparison with having a Kanban board and daily stand-ups.
It gives me a clear starting point to my day as fully remote
If you put your WLB on a specific tool you are using then you have a whole lot different sort of issues
