People at Tesla commonly say that the grass is greener over at Apple and Google. I worked at one place before Tesla and Tesla is by far more difficult. At Tesla, I’m consistently pulling 50+ hour work weeks, little to no management oversight or help, dozens of projects happening simultaneously, huge scope of responsibilities for every team, and the list goes on. If you work at Tesla, could you handle working anywhere else?
50+ is too low..
You guys got it wrong .. 50+ hours slaving for equivalent or even less TC at G and apple which also have better WLB.
Facto exactoooooo tho
Call Elon at Sunday 2am asking for help... he said he doesn't care.
There is higher probability he will call you at that time before you do

A lot of Chinese companies are still doing 996.
Nah
50 hours a week? what team? i went through a period where i was waking up at 3am to get 6 hours of uninterrupted work done before the wave of meetings started, still ended up not leaving the office until 7-8pm.
That sounds wack, I’m on a firmware team.
I feel like this totally misses the point. They are completely different business and Tesla is much more poorly organized. If you don't have leadership support than your engineering hours aren't going as far as they could be. Very inefficient
I really don’t understand why anyone who respects themselves or their time would work for Tesla. Working more with higher stress for less pay sounds awful to me.
Some of us were dreamers. After a year, I now understand why the turnover is so high.
