Hello folks! I have over 3 YOE and make about 140k TC in MCOL area working at a big bank. What companies should I target in the next 2-3 years that will help me break 200k TC but at the same time keeping my working hours to less than 40 a week. Am I just dreaming or there are companies like that? I
2 years ago, people were doing that on a 300K TC too. But it may not be easy in current market. Maybe that was the reason for this.
Yeah most likely
GoDaddy. $210k TC in MCOL, have worked more than 40 hours maybe twice over 4 years. Bar is low, people are great. Product doesn't make me want to jump off a bridge.
Wow nice! Can you tell me little bit about your role and the interview process?
The interview varies by team but is usually more practical, not nearly as cutthroat as FANG. Tech is all over too, but in my current role it's all JavaScript (front and back). Would describe my role as a Product Engineer - working with designers and PMs to build new features. A big focus on AI being pushed as of late.
Block, all remote
30-40hrs in MCOL at 140k is already more than 200k in HCOL. Most companies in HCOL make you work 45-50bps
I know! The problem is I am moving to a HCOL area next month without any pay increase (internal transfer) because of family reasons. So essentially taking a pay cut. To make up for that, I will be looking for a new job that pays according to the area.
Does MCOL stands for medium cost of living? I am bad at this lingo 😂
Yep!
You can make that at Amex if you are Sr. Manager and get a good performance rating (which impacts your annual bonus). Not hiring right now but hopefully should change early next year.
Nice, thanks for letting me know!
How high of a bonus can you get as a Manager/Sr Manager? Ik that our base is usually lower than average
I know Amazon gets a bad rep but my TC is 290k and on average I work 30-40hrs/week in MCOL
What’s ur role omg
Is it ML Data Science and yoe please?
