I'm having an opportunity to join NASA. Is there a chance that they can meet Google's salary? TC: 365K
No. As I understand, it's Federally-funded so it has to follow all of the Federal Government pay bands.
No way in hell……. Just think about this…..The president of US makes 400K!!!
Lol so true
Does Mr president have other income stream?
No way. But hell if I wouldn't join.
Which part of NASA? Big difference between a core spot in JPL vs writing crud apps to balance budgets
Internal cyber security, can't go in more details
What is the nasa salary range ? Also where are the placed out off ?
You’d be lucky to get new grad FAANG money at NASA or anywhere in the government. Most of us make more than than the cabinet members who run the government agencies.
Is there any chance that USPS can meet a similar salary range as Google? Stop asking silly questions.
Great comment. It adds absolutely nothing to the discussion. Just scroll on next time, dude.
Are you interviewing for Chief Scientist role?
NASA = job security, especially if it requires a security clearance. Getting PIPed in government work is rare, if not unheard of. Plus you get good benefits since it’s government work. Government tech work can also be way less stressful. But you may have to bill all your hours (submit a weekly report on exactly what you did and for how long). I know someone in a tech role in government work and although he makes less than he could, the security of the job outweighs the TC. And if there’s an RIF, you get top priority with any new role in the federal government and sometimes you can be moved to a new department instead.
Interstellar travel would be best compensation imo tho :)
