By talking to some Meta managers, they said there is no stack ranking. There's is no quota. They only pip or let go people when that member can't meet the bar, not comparing the member to the peers, where Amazon is clearly comparing the peers. Some members on blinds specifically say, there is stack ranking in Meta. Which is true? Thanks
No formal stack ranking. There are expected distributions but at least at my level, I’ve never seen them enforced. Of course people are calibrated against one another in an attempt to be equitable and ensure managers are using a consistent bar. Possible it ends up changing with the “increased intensity” stuff but haven’t seen anything yet.
i mean relative performance is also how it works at google for perf. That’s why they have calibrations there. There is no stack ranking across entire orgs and no one is force pipped, otherwise blind would be filled with threads like certain infamous companies
How long is PIP at Meta? 3 months?
They changed it to one month this year hahah
Really, Just 1 month? If failed, then fired immediately?
No stack ranking within your team or skip's team. PSC is calibrated for all ICs under D1/D2 for 50+ people, where you would expect some ranking happening
Calibration is done in almost most companies, where people are put in different grade. But as long as there is no stack ranking, if everyone can meet the bar, none will get pip or let go for the whole company.

I heard no quota. But the ranking is pretty famous right?
